Transportation

We provide Rural Transportation. This means scheduled groups throughout the county, that may have a need to go to town to pay bills, buy groceries, visit the bank, pick up medications, or do general shopping. It also allows them to enjoy the fellowship of others by dining out.

Recreational/Educational Transportation provides transportation of clients to special events and activities, allowing them to visit places they have never been or have not been able to visit in years. Examples are the State Museum, the beach, the mountains, and state fair and historical sites.

Nutrition Transportation transports clients from their homes to the Nutrition sites and back. Site participant also have a day each week that they can stop by the grocery store if they need to.

Client transportation is the single largest service provided by the Chesterfield County Council on Aging. Clients are provided rides to:

• The daily Congregate Meal services in Pageland, Chesterfield and Cheraw.
• Monthly Rural Group trips for groups known as:
  • Galilee
  • Jefferson
  • Plainview
  • Whiteoak
  • Zoar
• Day and Overnight Trips
• Special events
• Alzheimer's Client 'Days Out'

Transportation is provided by a fleet of full-size and mini- vans. When required, a wheelchair lift is available on the van.
